About

I'd rather show you
how I work than
list what I've done.

Credentials are easy to assert and hard to check, and they tell you almost nothing about whether an hour with someone will be useful. So this page is about method — what I do in a session, what I believe about this work, and who it isn't for.

The short version

Preparation, out loud, with someone who interrupts.

I coach one-to-one, remotely, on interviews, career direction, and the conversations that decide both. The sessions are practical: you say the thing, I stop you, we work out why it didn't land, and you say it again better. Then I write it down and send it to you.

That's genuinely most of it. The value isn't a framework I own — it's that almost nobody rehearses the conversations that determine their working life, and rehearsing them with an outside listener changes how they go.

Principles

Five things I hold to.

Say the true thing early

If I think you're preparing for the wrong role, avoiding the real conversation, or don't need coaching at all, you'll hear it in the first exchange — not after six sessions.

Practice beats advice

Being told how to answer well is pleasant and mostly useless. Answering badly out loud, then again, then again, is what actually changes the performance.

Your words, not mine

I don't hand over scripts. Anything you can't defend under a follow-up question will fail you at exactly the moment it matters.

Specific, or it doesn't count

"Improved efficiency" is noise. What did you decide, what did you own, what was different afterwards? If we can't make it checkable, we cut it.

No promises about other people

I can affect your preparation. I cannot affect a hiring committee's budget, its internal candidate, or its timing — so I won't pretend to.

Stop when it's done

The aim is for you to stop needing the sessions. Manufacturing a reason to keep meeting would be easy and I'm not interested in it.

This tends to suit

  • People with a specific conversation coming up and a date attached to it
  • People who are good at the job and bad at describing it
  • People willing to be interrupted and to try the same answer four times
  • People who want a straight read-out rather than encouragement
  • People stepping into leading for the first time

This doesn't suit

  • Anyone looking for a guaranteed result — nobody honest sells that
  • Anyone who wants their CV or answers written for them
  • Anyone who wants a job found for them; that's a recruiter, and I'm not one
  • Anyone needing support that belongs with a qualified mental-health professional
  • Anyone hoping for a passive course to watch alone

On not naming names

Why there are no client stories here.

Sites like this usually carry testimonials, logos and success statistics. There are none here, deliberately.

People come to me mid-interview-process, mid-doubt, or mid-something they haven't told their employer about. Turning that into marketing — even anonymised, even with permission — changes what people are willing to say in a session. I'd rather keep the sessions honest and let the method on these pages do the persuading.

It also means everything on this site is something I can stand behind, rather than a number you'd have no way to verify.

If that sounds like the right kind of hour, write in.

A few lines about the situation is plenty. You'll get an honest answer about whether I can help.
